Tim McKay
Manager / Producer
Tim brings 30 years of media experience to Fruition Film. His background in journalism and mass communications began at the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He was the public information officer for the NC Governor’s Office of Citizen Affairs from 1979 to 1984. His work there on volunteerism was recognized with the prestigious Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America.
Since 1984, Tim has provided a wide variety of media services to nonprofit and corporate clients: logo development and design; branding and marketing counsel; earned media strategy; still and video photography; radio, television, and print advertising; media placement; and internet solutions.
His video production, Tales of the Mountain - 40 Years of Mount Snow won Best in Show at the Crested Butte (Colorado) Ski Film and Video Festival in 1995. That same year his play, Dear Charles, won the Vermont Playwrights Award and his screenplay, Burning Bridges, won the Gold Award at WorldFest Charleston International Film Festival.
In 2007, Steeped In Surprises, the film he produced for the Sparta Teapot Museum, won a Telly Award in the category of public relations productions.
Tim's recent credits include SRC@25, the anniversary video for the Semiconductor Research Corporation; a workforce training video for The NC Governor’s Rapid Response Team; numerous television commercials for the NC Division of Forest Resources; State of Minds, a trade show video for the NC Biotechnology Center; and PlanVirginia, the future of Virginia.
Sam Griffin
Producer / Director of Photography
With 17 years of television and video production behind him, Sam Griffin has worked as a Director of Photography for the last 12 years, amassing an impressive client list in both local and National Markets.
Clients include many A-list broadcast organizations such as ABC Productions, ABC Sports, ABC World News, Nightline, A&E, CNN, the Discovery Channel Networks, ESPN, HBO Sports and Documentaries, the History Channel, NBC Nightly News and Dateline NBC.
Sam's experience has broadened to include producing for NBC & CBS. This has led to the development and production of his own documentaries and shows, including a sports-based show that was sold to Fox.
Sam's work has earned mulitple national Emmys.
Julie Mangum
Producer
Julie joined Fruition Film and immediately started to contribute in a big way. She orchestrated the launch of our first independent production, Haunted Taps, which can be seen on its own YouTube channel. She has helped create and launch numerous television shows, promos, and commercials including American Idol, Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire, and Boston Public. She now maintains our presence in in Wilmington, NC where she lives with her husband, Mike and son, River.
